Saying “thank you” cannot wait

August 17, 2005 by Rosa Say

A slight break in our interview action today because I must say THANK YOU! to all of you. I have a double dose of good news to share, and I know Tom understands that I’ll burst if I can’t tell you as soon as possible.

Managing_with_aloha_5While this is may be a blimp on the radar screen for those A-List authors, for me it is HUGE: Managing with Aloha goes into its second print run today! As a first-time author I have nothing to compare it to, but I am told by my distributors and booksellers that for this to happen in less than a year (we’re 2 days short of the 9-month mark) for a hard-cover book produced in Hawaii is “way better than great Rosa!” especially in light of our very ambitious first-run printing. “And a business book no less!” …(not sure what that means.)

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that all of you reading in our Ho‘ohana Community have made this happen for me, and I am filled with mahalo for the way you have supported me, and much more importantly, joined the groundswell of the managing with aloha message. We can reinvent the workplace.

The second bit of news is that Talking Story has made the Top500 List in Feedster this month, with a debut at # 479. I have to admit to all of you that I’m a bit perplexed by it, and I keep wondering how the thing works, for there are sooooooo many other blogs I expect to be on that list instead of this one. However I am grabbing that good news too because it’s not just about me; we share it.

In my mind there is no Talking Story without our Ho‘ohana Community. You challenge me, you inspire me, you make sure that my energy and commitment to Talking Story never ever falters. For in fact, it gets stronger and more consistent every day. Shine in your light, for this recognition belongs to all of us!

Mahalo nui loa; thank you very very much.

Rosa

I am so pleased to congratulate you about the book. And the Feedster thing (I don’t get it either).
Wishing you many, many more printings…

This is outstanding news Rosa! And it is good for us to hear it. I think it is safe to say your recognition of us is graciously accepted by all.
But the real credit goes to you and your powerful message, your unwavering and consistent ability to Talk Story within the context of MWA’s Values and the supercharged passion in which it is delivered.
You are as real as the day is long. The nobility and eloquence of this realness radiates here, in the Ho’ohana Community, in your book, Managing With Aloha and most certainly out into the world.

Well done, Rosa. Now we just need to get you a European publisher…
I am pleased to see three friends in the Feedster 500 (Johnnie Moore, Todd Storch and you).

    Rosa,
As a writer, I know just how exciting this must be for you! For those who don’t know, there is never a guarantee that a book will go into a second printing. Many just go out of print – something book writers lose sleep over at night!
    Many congratulations, Rosa!
